The Covenant Women’s Varsity Volleyball team won an incredible match versus Cumberland University tonight. The Scots lost the first two sets and then won the third with a 27-25 score. They followed with another two wins, securing the game.
I just got back from watching a bunch of the guys from my hall play outdoor intramural soccer. I made the mistake of just wearing a t-shirt… i’m having a hard time typing right now because I pretty much went numb from my elbows down to my fingers. My hands feel really heavy, and I can hardly move my fingers (and yes, the parapraph above took me about twelve minutes to write). It was snowing this morning. What’s up with that? It’s April 14th. And get this — it’s supposed to be 80 degrees tomorrow. Nothing like a 48 degree difference from what it was this morning. But I’m not complaining. It’s been so beautiful here on the mountain. The trees are starting to get green, and overall (minus today), it’s been a lot warmer and sunnier. This is our last full week of classes. It’s hard to believe. I cannot wait to be finished.
I have a Doctrine test tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. I’m going to be studying for that for the next several hours, and then I’m playing intramural volleyball tonight at 10:00 p.m. It’s been such a busy day. I registered for classes this morning — Cost Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Business Ethics, Business Research Paper, Principles of Finance, 20th Century World History, Christ and Culture, and Chorale. It’s going to be an intense semester. I’m still a little unsure if I’m biting off more than I can chew. It’ll be 18 credit hours which I’ve done the last two semesters… but they’re going to be hard classes. Fingers crossed.
There’s about 15 minutes left in the second half of the Scots game against MidAmerica Nazarene in Kansas City. We are down by two goals – MidAmerica Nazarene scored two consecutive goals within about five minutes of each other approximately 10 or 15 minutes into the second half.

It’s Saturday, August 25th… and the men and women’s soccer seasons are officially starting off with their first games against Trinity Christian College. Last week the men’s soccer team played a scrimmage against Carson Newman… tying them 1 to 1.
The men’s soccer team plays at 1:00 p.m. today, and the women’s soccer team plays at 3:30 p.m. I’m excited about getting out there and watching them play. I was talking with Alec Waller the other day about the games, and he said that the teams always play better with the Covenant students cheering them on in the stands. Anything from the traditional Scots chants to the bagpipes and the drums.. to just shouting and applause. The varsity soccer chant alone at the start of every game is exciting enough to spurr on the Covenant students who attend the games.
So I was just thinking back to this past semester… I still can’t believe I am officially done my first semester at Covenant College! Yeah… pretty much amazing, I know. Covenant College is a school — granted. But there is SO much about Covenant that makes it SO much more than just another university or college. The sports events at Covenant College are no exception…
