“Disorder in the Courts”

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

These are from a book called ‘Disorder in the Courts’ and are things
people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now
published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while
these exchanges were actually taking place.

that when a person dies in his

TAX

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

I’ve been studying all day for my tax test tomorrow.. it’s the first one of the semester, and it’s worth 45% of our class grade. Talk about exciting! I LOVE taking tests that count for virtually half of my total grade…

On a different note, Campus Preview Weekend is this weekend from March 26th – March 28th! It’s about that time again. It’s going to be a busy weekend. After this test tomorrow afternoon, I’ve got a 5 page paper to write by Friday morning. Tomorrow night is going to be a late one.

Spring Banquet is this Saturday… definitely something I’m looking forward to!

Thinking

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Do you ever have a whole lot on your mind, and you can’t really stop thinking… but when someone asks you what you’re thinking about, it’s like, “Uh.. uh.. umm… not sure?”

That’s me right now. Just thought i’d share. And I’m taking a break from writing a 6 page Marketing case study that’s due Wednesday.

Honda

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Our Honda presentation went really well this morning! It was a 45 minute in-class presentation on Honda Motor Company as a Marketing success story. We gave a presentation on their history, a vast array of their products, and then concluded with suggestions and advice for how Honda could continue being a success in their industry. I had fun doing it.. it was definitely a lot of work, but I felt like we did a really good job on it.

I’m ready for the weekend now.. :)

Honda Presentation

Monday, March 16th, 2009

I’m in the computer lab in Mills working on a Marketing presentation on the car company Honda. It’s going pretty slow as of yet.. the two other people in my group are joining me in about half an hour to begin putting the powerpoint together. We’re giving a 45 minute presentation on Friday morning, and I’m starting to get a little nervous about it. I was hoping that we would be a lot farther along with it than we are now.

Back to the grind.. it’s so beautiful on the mountain. It started out really foggy and raining this morning, but around 5:00 p.m., the clouds started to lift.. and it ended with a really beautiful sunny skyline. I love being on the mountain.

PaperBack, CD, DVD Swap

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Check out these new websites. I was told about them recently, and I started accounts with them. It’s free to open up accounts, and you essentially just list your books, CDs, and DVDs that you want to get rid of. If someone else requests them, you mail them whatever it is they requested.. and then you get a credit to your account which you can use to order a book, CD, or DVD that you want.

It’s free aside from paying for postage to mail whatever it is you’re sending. :)

Spring Break

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

I’m freezing! What’s up with it being 34 degrees all of a sudden? I thought spring was here.. It went from 80 degrees here in Franklin down to 34. Crazy. Our house is about 60 degrees.. I’ve been sitting in the basement studying with a little heater blowing on my feet and a blanket wrapped around me. I love spring break! :)

E&Y

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

After sending off my application and resume to Ernst and Young, I got a call from my brother… One of his managers from the E&Y Nashville office wants to have lunch with me and a recruiter in the next couple of weeks! I’m waiting to hear from them, but I’m hopeful! Depending on how this works out, I may be attending a Summer Leadership Program with E&Y… and Lord-willing, working for Ernst and Young when I graduate Covenant in 2010.

E&Y Application

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

I just mailed off an application for Ernst and Young’s Summer Leadership Program (the first step towards getting a job with them when I graduate), along with my resume and transcript! I’m pretty excited.. and just praying that, if it’s God’s will, that door will be opened up for me.

Project Ideas Anyone?

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

I’m home now.. and have been for about 3 hours so far. And I’m already pretty bored. I’m trying to give myself a break from studying at least until Monday… but who knows. If I don’t find something productive and somewhat interesting to do, I might bust out the textbooks early.

Anyone have any ideas of projects or things that I can do to keep me busy? I don’t have a car which really limits my possibilities.. I can use my sister’s car later on in the week. I kind of wish we had a wood workshop or a pottery wheel that I could just go at. I like working with my hands a lot, and with the amount of expendable time that I have right now, I could afford to perfect my woodworking or throwing skills…

Any ideas? Throw them out there. I’m all ears.
