God’s Presence

I found this quote written in one of my class binders today. I can’t remember who it’s from, but I thought it was a good one. I wouldn’t have written it down if I didn’t…

It is one thing to be without hope for the future. It is an entirely different thing to be without God in the present.

I take God’s presence in my life for granted far too often. I spend so many of my waking hours worrying, stressing, and contemplating about the future. Sometimes I even dare to let myself believe the lie that my future doesn’t have a lot of “hope” in it. Sometimes the worries and negativity clouds out all glimpses of my future being a bright one.

I forget the very real presence of the Almighty in my life… everyday… right now… in this present moment. I can’t remember the reference off the top of my head (can someone help me out?), but there’s a verse in the Bible that says something along the lines of…

If God is for us, who can be against us?

(That is a Bible verse, isn’t it?) You get the idea. Our Father is for us, and His presence in our lives is real. Don’t forget that.

  2. Romans 8:31… such an encouraging passage of Scripture. NOTHING can keep us from His love; we’re justified in God’s eyes because of our union with Christ. Oh man, I gotta go read it. Thanks for sharing your heart, Phil… my forgetfulness and apathy are with you on this one.
