Sunday, February 10th, 2008I woke up at 7:30 a.m. to the sound of my phone ringing. Bets was calling me. I picked up and answered in a raspy voice, “Hello?” It sounded like I had just smoked three packs of cigarettes over the last hour. It felt like it too… Bets answered, “You need a ride to New City in a little while? I’m leaving at 9:15 a.m. if you want to drive with me.” I nodded my head, somehow thinking that she would hear that. Then I realized and managed to squeeze out a, “yeah, I’ll be there.”
I hung up the phone and laid back down. I could at least sleep until 8:30 before I would have to get up and shower. I closed my eyes… “beep beep, Beep Beep, BEep BEep, BEEP BEEP!!” I had only just laid down and closed my eyes, and my alarm was already sounding.
