Cold

So I am sitting here with a sweater, coat, and scarf… and still freezing my royal behind off. I just got back from having waffles at the Anderson’s house. They had a fire going, along with the football game - New York vs. Green Bay. It was nice to just sit in a home and [...]

Scholarship Weekend

Yesterday was the start of Scholarship Weekend on campus. There are some 180 students previewing on campus, the vast majority (or all) of which are applying for a major scholarship - anything from the Maclellan Scholarship, the Donaldson Science Scholarship, the Business Scholarship, the Education Scholarship, and a vast array of other ones that I [...]

Change of Name

Okay, so I wasn’t all that bent on having one of my sharks called Knucklehead… so I let a few of my friends come up with a new name. The third shark is now officially called Po-Boy. I was interested in the meaning of the name, so I looked it up on dictionary.com. Unfortunately, I [...]

“Called By God”

I read this in Chambers this morning - it was a hard reminder of the reality that God has called all of us to His work… hard in the sense that my pride and my own desires would prefer to remain in my own comfort zone, rather than stepping out and making myself vulnerable for [...]

Commit Your Way

It’s almost midnight… and I find myself checking emails and facebook once again before heading to bed. I have a daily verse that pops up on my facebook - a new one for each day. Today’s was Psalm 37:5-6…
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine [...]

Insane Classes

Classes were insane today. I woke up at 7:00 a.m. to have breakfast with my friend and then promptly went to my 8:00 a.m. Business Management class, followed by my Doctrine 2 class at 9:00. I had a short break before chapel, followed my my 12:00 p.m. Finite Math, 1:00 p.m. Chorale, 2:00 p.m. Accounting [...]

Three Sharks

So I got some money for Christmas and didn’t know what to use it on, so I bought a 10 gallon fish tank… and three black-finned sharks. They are all about an inch and a half long, and they are technically catfish - but they look like miniature sharks with whiskers. They are pretty incredible…

Restless

I’m restless. My first class doesn’t start until 2:30 this afternoon, and I have finished all the other preparations that had to be done before classes started. I’m ready to get things rolling… It’s been really different being back at school. Every semester changes so much - people change, you change, classes change. It feels [...]
