Day of Prayer

It’s Day of Prayer today at Covenant. Classes are canceled for the day, and we have a chance to rest, do some extra studying, and spend time in prayer. I had a really restful morning so far… I slept in until 9:00 a.m., which was definitely a first for me in a long time. I [...]

The Man

Sometimes I brag about my brother a little too much… sometimes not enough. My one and only older brother is named Wilhelmus Schaffers Codington. He’s always been called Wim for short. He was born in Knoxville, TN on September 26, 1982. There is a lot I could tell you about my brother… but I also [...]

Seasonal Change

It’s about that time of year… the leaves are changing color and falling off the trees, the birds are disappearing, and it’s getting colder… much colder.

During this time of a mere change in season, it’s been important for me to know and be reminded of the fact that God has ordained those seasonal changes. He [...]

When we harbor bad thoughts or remember when someone has wronged us, it is as if we are [...]

Mindset of Cynicism II

Continued…
As I was saying, this past Sunday morning, I was visiting Trinity Baptist Church in Nashville with my sister and her husband. It’s a small church… maybe 50 or 60 people. Nick and I had just been hunting that morning, so we were a little late coming in. I was wearing tennis shoes, blue jeans, and [...]

Mindset of Cynicism

I’m sitting in church… yet again. It’s 10:30 a.m. I glance at the clock and imagine the hands moving forward two hours. That would be perfect. Honestly, I’m just looking forward to lunch. It’s been a long week and weekend, and I just want to relax and have a quiet afternoon. “Ok, snap out of [...]

Accounting

Accounting Test 3 tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
This is yet another humble request for prayer… I’ve spent the majority of today studying for it. One more test, and then things will let up a little for this week. I had Doctrine on Friday and Microeconomics on Monday already. It feels good to have those finished.
