A Day to be Remembered
It’s been a long time since i’ve written on here. I think it’s been almost a month or more… i am now halfway done with camp. I’ve been working as a senior camp counselor for the summer at Camp Westminster - basically, I get to have 7-10 boys in my own cabin every week… play paintball, archery, teach and balay on the ropes course and rock wall, teach cat fishing every week, saddle and ride horses, canoe, swim, swing dance, play sports, teach about God’s faithfulness, lead 30 minute Bible devotions every morning of the week, and just have a blast being a dad/brother to all the 6-17 year olds that come through camp every week. I love it.
Life is hard, exhausting, stressful, humid (we live in open cabins without AC), hot, loud (we’re out in the woods with all sorts of insects and creatures), AND just plain amazing.
Every night we have a time of worship, prayer, singing, and a 30 minute talk. Last night, we talked about Christ’s death on the cross… and I can safely and assuredly say that I have never realized more what Christ truly did for us. It was incredible. After the talk, well over half the camp were in tears… and people who were already believers were expressing renewed faith and amazement, while some of the campers who had never known Christ before were eagerly wanting to know God. What a blessing!
Thank you for your prayers.. I hope to continue posting every now and then when I am given the opportunity. As for now, that isn’t very often. :) But when I can, I will… Blessings.
