Spring Banquet with Bets
A few days ago, on March 31, was Covenant’s Spring Banquet. I am not entirely sure if it is something that the student body organizes or if it is something that Covenant itself organizes (perhaps it rests on both parties). It happens every year in the spring, and it is essentially a beautiful banquet and dance that is thrown. This year it was at the Hunter Museum of American Art in downtown Chattanooga.
Around 5:00 p.m., we started getting ready. A few of the other guys and I got decked out in pin-stripe suits and ties, along with a few pairs of shades just to add to the effect. Around 6:00 p.m., we went to go get our dates for Spring Banquet. My older sister Betsy and I went together - I guess you could say that was the safest option. :) We all got together in Mac Circle and drove down the mountain. The banquet didn’t officially start until 7:00 p.m., but we left a little early so we could go take pictures outside of Rock City. Bets and I ended up going with aboutĀ four other couples. It was fun to go with a group and to be able to spend some awesomely fun time with friends.
After taking pictures for a while, we drove to the art museum downtown. It was beautiful. The entire museum had been reserved for the night, so there was the art exhibit, the dining room with an amazing array of food, and two different dance floors (one on the stone patio downstairs and one on the veranda overlooking the river and Chattanooga).
Oh, good times. All in all, it was an amazingly fun night. I danced with Bets, took pictures, ate amazing food… and then afterwards, we all went for a walk on the Walking Bridge. Good times. :)
