Last Day as a Codington
Less than a week ago my sister woke up to her last day as a Codington. Now she is Julie Muckerman. I can hardly think of where I should begin writing… perhaps this post will end up being another post that uses pictures to tell a story instead of actual words.
March 3, 2007 - I woke up at 7:00 a.m. and was taking pictures by 7:30 a.m. I don’t think I put the camera down until 6:00 p.m. that day. I spent a long time this afternoon just sorting through the 1200 pictures that I took that day. Good times, right? I could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding for my sister Julie. And I could talk non-stop about the honor and privilege that it was to be one of her photographers.
The wedding started at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. We were up getting ready by 7:30… despite what you (and I previously) might have thought would be a crazy and hectic morning getting ready, it was a really calm and fun morning. We all had breakfast (all being my family and the eight bridesmaids that stayed at our house the night before), while my little brothers and Heidi pulled rose petals off of the bouquets of roses for the wedding. It was beautiful.
Later that morning, I got to the small church in downtown Franklin (Franklin Community Church) around 10:00 a.m. to get ready to take pictures. Julie and the bridesmaids had been getting ready for a while, not to mention Nick and his groomsmen. It was so different being on the other side of a wedding and actually being able to take part in it, you know?
I could go on forever about the whole day - from taking pictures with the wedding party at the Franklin bridge… to when I had to out the camera down because my eyes were too watery… to watching Julie slowly walk down the aisle… or hearing my dad whisper, “She’s all yours,” to Nick when the Pastor asked who gave Julie to be married… or watching my dad dance with Julie at the reception… to hearing Betsy, my older sister and Julie’s maid of honor, freelance a speech for Julie and Nick at the reception. :)
It was a beautiful day. What else can I say…

I gave your mom piano lessons when we all lived in Delaware. Great to see an update about your family. Please give your mom my greetings.
