Assassins Has Begun..
Covenant has this thing they do every year called “Assassins.” It’s essentially a game to see who can stay alive longest and who can get the most kills… anyone who wants to play the all campus game submits their name. Once all the names are in, you are given a piece of paper that has the name of someone else on it. That person is who you have to find and “kill” with a water pistol… The thing is, you don’t know who has you, so everyone is always suspicious and on their guard. The last man standing wins a $25 prize, and the man with the most kills gets $20.
The game started today right after chapel. There are rules and boundaries. For example, you can’t kill someone while they’re in class, in chapel, or in their room. But any other time is fair game… It was intense watching the game begin even as soon as you stepped outside the chapel doors. Within the first day, almost half of the people are eliminated from the game.
I’m not going to lie, I have never seen so many people so eager to stay inside chapel or inside the classroom after class had already finished. After New Testament class today, between 2:50 and 3:00 p.m., people were still going at it and wracking up the number of people they had shot with their water pistols. Now I can’t devulge names on here… to do so would be unfair and might aid in the assassination of anyone who reads this.
Oh the excitement of campus life…
