Finally done

It’s such a beautiful feeling being done with final exams… and knowing that you have successfully completed the first semester of college life. That’s me — right here, right now. I had my last final this morning in biology.

God, thank you. Thank you for giving me the strength and endurance to finish…

I have learning a lot about God lately. The last two days  have been a real struggle, but God has been so good. Daily, He proves and shows himself again… and again… and again. Today was no exception. After finshing my biology final around noon, I spent some time talking with friends and relaxing after a challenging and long semester. Then I decided to take a walk down to the pond behind Jackson Hall. I grabbed my camera and started walking…

The pond has been a favorite place of mine to go with friends or just simply to take a walk on a peaceful Sunday afternoon. I needed the solitude and the beauty that it offered today. It was beautiful. I retraced the steps of walks I had previously had earlier in the semester… reminiscing of good times, as well as thanking God for his sovereignty in all situations. It’s days like today where I love spending time in solitude… I am a people person. I usually don’t like to be alone. I love to spend time with friends just talking, hanging out, or studying. But today, I needed it. I am learning more and more that I have no control over the situations I so often believe I can handle. God has shown me that I can’t do things alone… thank you, God.

One of my friends gave me this verse to memorize today — Galatians 6:9 ~ “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” The first part of the chapter talks about doing good to all. This verse in particular is an awesome reminder for us to continue persevering…. not only in doing good to others, but also in just our daily walks with Christ and in our responsibilities in life.  So “let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” ~ Hebrews 12:1-3

Amen… thank you God for your sovereignty, your goodness, your faithfulness, your forgiveness, your love.
